ABOUT
Despite insight, motivation, and tools—yet change doesn’t seem to last. Many clients and therapists often wonder why it's difficult to employ coping strategies and skills. This isn’t a failure of effort or intelligence. When the nervous system is overwhelmed, it becomes difficult to think clearly, reflect, or access the skills we’ve learned. Supporting the nervous system first creates the conditions for understanding, connection, and meaningful change to take hold.
From the Root Up and SMART approaches, I support clients and clinicians in developing regulation and reflective capacity in ways that foster stability, insight, and integration.

How SMART Fits Into My Work
SMART Therapy is one part of my broader integrative approach, which also includes mentalization-based therapy (MBT) and psychodynamic psychotherapy. SMART supports both my clinical practice and educational offerings by providing a concrete, body-informed way to help regulation and reflection take hold—especially when insight alone isn’t enough.
